Microsoft expects users of existing NT-based computers to upgrade them
to XP/Server 2003 Operating Systems in order to obtain long-term support.
However, for some Emerson control system users, it may not be practical
or convenient to upgrade immediately. Since NT-based computers are no
longer available for sale as new systems, replacements for any failed
NT system servers or workstations can be very difficult to come by.
Emerson has responded by creating a program that will provide
a ready supply of factory remanufactured computers that are pre-loaded
with all of the necessary NT operating system components. |
As with our standard computer offerings, the configuration of an Emerson
Certified Remanufactured Computer is tightly controlled right down to
the switch settings, card slot assignments, device driver versions, and
more. Emerson certifies their compatibility with standard Emerson NTbased
system software applications.
This is a purchase program intended for spares, replacements and minor
system expansions. Emerson also stocks a limited quantity
of each model for immediate shipment subject to additional
cost and availability.
